ORIGINS OF MAIDBRITE
Maidbrite LLC was founded in 1988 by Mary Jo Dean. She recognized a need in her community for reliable and personable residential cleaning services, as well as an opportunity to create flexible, respectful employment in an industry that is often undervalued.
In those early years, Mary Jo ran the company from her apartment, passing out flyers by hand to neighbors, and cleaning homes herself alongside a small team of part-time employees. What began as means to pay a few bills and fulfill her ambitions of self employment, continued to grow over the decades.
Long lasting relationships were built and maintained with clients and employees alike!
Now in the 2020s, Maidbrite employs 8-12 full and part time workers, and services over 150 homes in the Heights and surrounding areas.
As of Jan 1st, 2021, Mary Jo sold Maidbrite to her daughter, MaRiahh Walker-Hodgkinson, which continued Maidbrite into its second generation of family ownership.
MaRiahh’s journey with Maidbrite began long before 2021. MaRiahh, born nearly 11 years after the inception of Maidbrite, has regularly been quoted saying “Maidbrite was my mothers first baby, I was her 2nd!” Growing up in the family business, MaRiahh saw first hand what it took to own and operate a small business.
She officially joined the team in 2016 as the Supply & Inventory Manager, then worked her way through every available level of the business; a house cleaner, a supervisor/trainer, then an office assistant, an office manager, and finally the Owner of Maidbrite. These lifelong experiences gave MaRiahh a unique
understanding of Maidbrite from the ground up, and continues to shape the way it is operated today.
Now, nearly 4 decades after its founding, Maidbrite remains proudly independent and family owned.
One philosophy has remained consistent throughout the years: our clients and our employees are equally important to our success. Our clients know they can depend on friendly, reliable, and consistently excellent service. Our employees know they will receive benefits and opportunities that aren’t always common within the cleaning industry, like flexible scheduling, evenings and weekends off, opportunities for advancement and promotion, retirement matching benefits, personal loans, paid vacations, bonus programs, competitive wages for the industry, and more.
When we take good care of our staff, they take good care of our clients!
